There was a crucial moment deep into injury time at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
With Arsenal leading Everton 2-1, powerful centre-forward Romelu Lukaku burst into the box with the hope of rifling a left-foot bullet past Petr Cech for 2-2.
But before the big Belgium could get his shot away, Arsenal centre-half Gabriel Paulista slid in with a clean, monster tackle, and he cleared the danger from the Gunners box.
After doing his job with splendid form, Gabriel popped up, flexed his arm, and celebrated his tackle as if he’d scored a goal. Fair dos!
The moment wasn’t lost on Arsenal fans watching the game on TV, and comments immediately flooded into Twitter to make ‘Gabriel’ a trending topic.
Arsenal are now top of the league, at least until Man United host Man City in the derby at Old Trafford on Sunday.

I jumped right off my seat when Gabriel made that match saving tackle on Lukaku. We both cheered at the same time.

Gabriel was so, so good today. Definitely will fulfill his potential as a world class CB. Hopefully he stays injured free. Leader of men.

Gabriel loves it as well. Celebrating a tackle. That's the passion you go to the games for. That's a winning mentality.
