It looks like Alexandre Pato has quashed any hopes that he’ll move to Tottenham on transfer deadline day.
Pato, 25, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the last few weeks, with Spurs emerging as the frontrunner for the Brazilian striker in the past few days.
Pato is currently on loan at Sao Paulo from Corinthians, however news spilled out over the weekend that the player’s representative Giuliano Bertolucci had flown to London to complete a deal with Mauricio Pochettino’s side before the end of the transfer window.
Yesterday, Brazilian website Globo confirmed that Pato will speak to his representatives about a possible move to White Hart Lane, adding that Tottenham are willing to spend 11 million euros on the striker.
Now, however, the deal looks dead in the water.
Pato turned to Instagram overnight to post a picture in his Sao Paulo jersey, with the strapline: “Together we are stronger.”
