Viewers of this evening’s clash between Chelsea and Tottenham have taken to Twitter in numbers to discuss their amazement at Christian Eriksen’s stunning long-range equalizer for the visitors.
The two sides are currently locked in Premier League action at Stamford Bridge, with potentially-crucial ramifications in the race for a spot in next season’s Champions League.
Ahead of kick-off, Spurs occupied the final Champions League place, with Chelsea having sat one place and five points adrift of their capital rivals.
As such, a win for Chelsea would see the Blues close the gap to just two points, whereas a Tottenham victory would result in the North Londoners opening up a likely-insurmountable 8-point lead over Antonio Conte’s side.

The early goings of this afternoon’s clash saw Chelsea work their way into proceedings, with the Blues taking more and more control as the half wore on.
And the positivity of Antonio Conte’s men paid off on the half-hour mark, when Victor Moses’ whipped cross from the right was headed home by Alvaro Morata, following a major misjudgement on the part of Hugo Lloris.
However, a moment of magic from Christian Eriksen on the stroke of half-time meant that the sides headed in level at the break, after the Dane produced a goal of the season contender with a dipping, swerving effort from 30 yards.
The strike, which left Chelsea shot-stopper Willy Caballero looking like an amateur, has since gone viral across Twitter, with the best of the astounded reaction below:
Every single one of us have been in training when someone hits one that the keeper just stands, watches fly past, and goes “ok.”
That was Eriksen’s strike. Caballero has NOTHING for that.
