Sir Alex Ferguson to return to Old Trafford
Sir Alex Ferguson is set to return to the Manchester United dugout.
Ferguson will take charge of a game on May 26th at Old Trafford as Manchester United’s legends take on Bayern Munich’s legends.
The reason for said match is to mark the 20th anniversary of Manchester United’s treble-winning season.
Speaking about returning to Old Trafford, Ferguson stated:
“I’m really looking forward to what will be a special day at Old Trafford.
“It will be great to catch up with some familiar faces and a great opportunity to support the work of Manchester United Foundation.”As quoted by the Evening Standard.
Man United suffer first loss under Solskjaer
Since Ferguson stepped down as Man United boss the Reds have struggled to find his replacement.
Both David Moyes and LVG struggled to fill the legends boots with the baton then being passed to Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho did have some success at United, winning the League Cup, Europa League and finishing second last season.
However, the 2018/19 season saw Mourinho’s side slip down to 6th in the Premier League.
Mourinho was then sacked in December with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being put in charge for the remainder of the season.
Solskjaer enjoyed a superb start to life as United boss, winning 10 of his first 11 games, drawing the remaining one with Burnley.
Unfortunately, United would be upstaged by PSG earlier this week, losing 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League tie.
Despite the loss, Solskjaer has insisted his team will not change their mindset or panic.
