Signing players won’t fix Chelsea’s poor mentality-Sarri

Sarri on Chelsea’s mentality problems

In his latest press conference, Maurizio Sarri has been once again speaking out about Chelsea’s mentality problems.

Chelsea’s biggest issue, currently, is their poor away form.

Earlier in the year, Chelsea would lose back-to-back away games vs Bournemouth and Manchester City, 4-0 and 6-0.

However, Sarri believes that he doesn’t need new players to fix the problem and that his current squad can address the issue:

“It’s really very strange. In the first half of the season, we played better away than at home. Now, in the last five matches, we were in trouble away, and I don’t know why. It’s very difficult to explain the last four or five matches away.

“I am really very confident [his players can address the issue], but, especially away, the reaction on the pitch to the difficulties in the last few months were really wrong.” As quoted by the Evening Standard.

Cardiff vs Chelsea

Chelsea players will have a chance to amend their poor away from this coming Sunday.

The Blues will travel to relegation-battling Cardiff.

Cardiff currently sit 18th in the league and two points away from safety.

However, they do have a game in hand on 17th place Burnley.

As for Chelsea, they are sat in 6th place after failing to win their last two league outings.

Sarri’s side are also now three points off 4th place Arsenal with the race for a top-four spot very tight as we come to the business end of the season.
