Shoya Nakajima to Wolves is ‘80%’ done

Wolves moving closer to first January signing

Wolverhampton Wanderers are closing in on their first signing of the January transfer window with a deal for Shoya Nakajima ‘80%’ done.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side started the season pretty decently but it has been somewhat disappointing in recent weeks bar an incredible performance against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Goals from Raul Jiminez and Jota completed an incredible turnaround at Molineux.

Barring that game, Wolves had lost all of their last six matches including disappointing results against Huddersfield and Cardiff.

Though, they will be hoping that the result against Chelsea will help spearhead their rise back up the table.

One player who could help them do that is Shoya Nakajima.

The winger has been impressive over in Portugal so far this season and is starting to attract attention.

Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City are said to be among his suitors ahead of the January transfer window.

However, it is Wolves who have made the first move for the player and could actually be closing in on a deal.

That is because the president of Nakajima’s club Portimonense, Rodiney Sampaio, has claimed a deal is nearing completion.

He even claimed that the player is ‘80% at Wolverhampton’.

“There was a conversation but it is still not 100% complete but it is a possibility in January,” He explained as quoted by ZeroZero.

“What is the issue is the payment of the entire termination clause or not, so it has not been finalised.

It may have been a great night on Wednesday for Wolves fans but it certainly wasn’t for Chelsea fans.

It just didn’t go their way during the game and they were not helped by a contentious refereeing decision.
