Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has this afternoon provided an update on the potential return of Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Henderson, a 22-year-old shot-stopper, came up through the youth ranks of United, after joining the club from Carlisle in 2011.
However, after struggling to carve out any sort of place for himself in the first-team plans of the Red Devils, the English U21-international has since been sent out on a series of loans over the last couple of campaigns.
And, on the back of being named in the League One Team of the Year last summer following an impressive spell with Shrewsbury, Henderson’s performances in the Championship with Sheffield United this past season have seen the youngster continue to showcase his immense potential.
Henderson started all 46 of the Blades’ league outings, keeping 21 clean sheets, and playing a crucial role in the superb season enjoyed by Chris Wilder’s men.
United’s 2-0 win over Ipswich back in April saw them secure 2nd-place in the Championship table, and a spot in the Premier League for next season.

As such, Sheffield United have since understandably made it crystal clear that they intend to lure Henderson back to the club for next season.
And, speaking to Mark Walker of the Press Association a short time ago, Blades’ boss Chris Wilder provided the latest on the ongoing negotiations between the board at Bramall Lane and Manchester United:
#SUFC boss Chris Wilder remains hopeful that #MUFC goalkeeper Dean Henderson will return to Bramall Lane on loan. “Yes, that’s on-going,” he told PA’s @markdw1966. “Same again, discussions between both clubs, Manchester United and ourselves”

In other Sheffield United transfer news this afternoon, meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that former Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison has been handed a trial with the Blades:
Ravel Morrison having a trial @SUFC_tweets. Is now 26. From same Youth Cup team as Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard. When people moan at how Pogba and Lingard behave, they don’t even come close to Morrison’s misdemeanours.

Former English U21 international Morrison most recently lined out with Swedish outfit Osterunds.
