Sevilla’s Gnagnon apologises to Liverpool’s Larouci after bad tackle

Liverpool 1 – Sevilla 2

Liverpool faced Spanish side Sevilla on Sunday evening, in their fourth pre-season clash of 2019.

The Reds had last faced Borussia Dortmund, losing 3-2, after picking up wins vs Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City.

Jurgen Klopp’s side would lose on Sunday evening courtesy of goals from Nolito and Alejandro Pozo.

Divock Origi would score Liverpool’s only goal of the game in the 44th minute.

Liverpool’s next pre-season fixture sees them face Sporting CP this coming Thursday.

Gnagnon’s tackle

During the Sevilla game, there was a horrific tackle on one of the Liverpool players.

Sevilla’s Joris Gnagnon booted young Liverpool defender Yasser Larouci right in the leg in what looked a rather harsh tackle for any occasion, never mind a friendly.

Larouci had to be stretchered off after said challenge, while Sevilla’s Gnagnon was shown a red card.

Gnagnon has since sent out an apology to Liverpool and Larouci.

Sevilla’s English Twitter page has translated the message:

“I would like to publicly apologise to Liverpool, the family of the player and the supporters.

“It was a heinous act on my part for whatever reason and should not be seen on a football field. All my prayers are with the player and the family”

Sevilla are also reporting that Gnagnon apologised to the Liverpool player in person.
