Sevilla ‘await’ another Diego Carlos bid from Newcastle

Newcastle United’s pursuit of Sevilla’s Diego Carlos has been long, arduous and, so far, fruitless. The Magpies have seen two bids turned down thus far, but reports coming out of Spain suggest that a third bid could be imminent, and it could be a hefty one.

As per Spanish outlet Marca, the Magpies have seen bids of 25 million and 35 million euros rejected, with a release clause standing at 75 million euros deemed around his valuation.
However, a third bid is set to arrive, which the report suggests could amount to 50 million euros, with a further 5 million in add-ons.
Carlos himself is keen on the move, with Newcastle ready to double his current salary on a four-and-a-half-year contract. Now 28 years old, his next club will likely be the last major move of his career, and should the salary be close to the speculated amount, it is easy to see the appeal despite Sevilla currently sitting 2nd in La Liga.
Could Bissouma move too?
Now, as per a report in the Daily Mail, Newcastle could be ready to stump up another 50 million, this time for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma.
With the Mali star having just 18 months left on his contract, Brighton are looking for a big sale, and newly-minted Newcastle make sense.

But the move would also make sense for Newcastle, as 24-year-old Bissouma would become the first marquee player of the new reign.
Whether they would want to take their spending to over 130 million in January, however, is another matter.
