According to a growing number of reports in Spain today, Italian giants Inter Milan are preparing a swoop for Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela.
Lamela arrived at White Hart Lane in 2013 from AS Roma in a deal worth 30 million Euro, but his experiences in the Premier League have been hit and miss since.
Having initially struggled to settle into the rigours of the English game, Lamela slowly adapted to the style of football, with the Argentinian international having enjoyed his finest campaign to date in 2015/16, during which he racked up an impressive 11 goals and 9 assists across all competitions.
However, a hip injury forced the 25-year-old to miss the vast majority of last season, with the technically-gifted wide-man having failed to make a competitive appearance since last November.
On the move?
As a result, Inter Milan, who were keen admirers of Lamela during his time with Roma, are now ready to present an offer to Spurs in the hopes of coaxing the River Plate youth product back to Serie A.
The Nerazzurri’s opening bid is expected to be in the region of 15 million Euro, though reports state that the Premier League outfit will not open negotiations for anything less than 18 million.
Further developments are expected over the coming weeks.
