Senegal vs Algeria live streaming: Match preview

The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Final will be contested by Senegal and Algeria.

Surprisingly, Senegal have never won this competition,

Their only other final appearance came in 2002 in Mali but they lost to Cameroon on penalties.

Manager Aliou Cissé was apart of the playing squad back then so will he lead his nation to glory this time?

Algeria meanwhile have one AFCON title to their name.

In 1990, a 1-0 win over Nigeria in front of 105,032 fans saw them lift the title on home soil.

Who will be lifting the famous old trophy in Cairo?

These two actually met way back in the group stages 22 days ago.

Youcef Belaïli’s goal saw Algeria win 1-0 as his side topped the group with nine points, followed by Senegal who ended with six.

They both then enjoyed comfortable wins in the round of 16.

Sadio Mané scored the only goal of the game as Senegal proved to be just too good for Uganda.

Two days later, goals from Belaïli, Riyad Mahrez and Adam Ounas saw Algeria swat aside Guinea 3-0.

Both then faced tougher tests in the quarter-finals.

It was another 1-0 win for Senegal; Idrissa Gana Gueye’s goal downing Benin.

Algeria meanwhile needed a penalty shootout to defeat Côte d’Ivoire; goalkeeper Raïs M’Bolhi the hero.

On Sunday in the semi-finals, they were both on the right end of late drama.

In the Senegal vs Tunisia semi, it was a tale of two missed penalties.

First, Sassi saw his effort saved by Alfred Gomis.

Then, just moments later, Senegal had a penalty but Henri Saivet also missed from the spot.

The game went into extra time and fortune favoured Les Lions de la Téranga.

In the 101st minute, Dylan Bronn scored an own goal to put Senegal in front.

Then, in the very last minute, another penalty was given, this time for a hand-ball by Gueye.

However, after VAR review, the decision was reversed and Senegal progressed.

Algeria meanwhile came through in the most dramatic of circumstances.

They led through an own goal just before half time but Nigeria equalised with just 18 minutes remaining.

However, with the very last kick of the match, Riyad Mahrez picked out the top corner to send his side through.

Simply amazing.

This promises to be a classic so which team can rise to the occasion in Cairo?
