Sebastien Haller’s West Ham transfer timetable & FC Utrecht’s windfall

Sebastien Haller & West Ham

On Tuesday, Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed that striker Sebastien Haller is on the verge of joining West Ham.

The German club took the unusual step of reporting on West Ham’s interest in Haller on social media before the transfer has been sealed.

Frankfurt confirmed that Haller is now heading to London for his medical.

However, on Wednesday morning, neither West Ham nor Eintracht Frankfurt have confirmed that the switch is done.

Haller’s West Ham transfer timetable

Could West Ham end up missing out on signing Haller?

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg has noted that Haller has attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

However, after injecting a bit of doubt into the mix, Jacob Steinberg also urged Hammers fans to have “patience” as the deal unfolds.

So when will the transfer be complete?

Football London reporter Sam Inkersole has revealed that ” West Ham were ironing a few wrangles out last night” over the deal.

FC Utrecht’s windfall

In anticipation that the transfer does happen, Dutch paper De Telegraaf have reported on how FC Utrecht are set to benefit.

Prior to joining Frankfurt, Haller made his name at Utrecht.

After signing the striker for just 750,000 euros, the Dutch club sold the forward to Eintracht for 7 million euros.

As part of that sale, FC Utrecht carved out a sell-on clause with the Bundesliga outfit.

Working on the basis that West Ham wrap up the deal for around 50 million euros, De Telegraaf claim that FC Utrecht will net another 4 million euros from Haller.

That would make Haller Utrecht’s “best ever deal”, report De Telegraaf.

FC Utrecht’s previous record deal was Dries Mertens’ 8.5 million euro move to PSV.
