Sean Dyche confirms status of key Burnley pair Cornet & Weghorst ahead of Tottenham

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has, on Monday evening, provided fitness updates on key attackers Wout Weghorst and Maxwel Cornet, ahead of the club's meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Concerns over the wellbeing of both Weghorst and Cornet of course spread amongst the Clarets' fanbase this past weekend.

This came after the two recent arrivals at Turf Moor appeared to pick up fitness problems in the club's Premier League showdown with Brighton & Hove Albion. Cornet was even forced to limp out of proceedings on the south coast.

In turn, speaking to the media ahead of his side's swift return to action, when Burnley are set to play host to Antonio Conte's Tottenham on Wednesday night, Sean Dyche was inevitably asked for an update on the wellbeing of both players.

And, in a boost for all associated with the club, the English tactician went on to confirm that Weghorst and Cornet 'should be fine' to feature from the off:

Burnley, of course, will head into the club's meeting with Spurs with confidence high in the camp.

This comes on the back of an altogether impressive return to winning ways on the part of Dyche's troops on Saturday afternoon.

With just a solitary victory under their belts across the season to date, the Clarets made the trip to the Amex Stadium for a meeting with Graham Potter's Brighton.

And, when all was said and done, Burnley provided a timely reminder to the rest of the Premier League's relegation candidates that their survival efforts are far from over, en route to a dominant 3-0 triumph.

All of Weghorst, Josh Brownhill and Aaron Lennon managed to find the net over the course of the 90 minutes, to guide the Lancashire outfit off the foot of the English top-flight table, and within five points of safety.
