Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce takes shots at Everton’s Marco Silva

Still bitter about his sacking

Former Everton boss Sam Allardyce has claimed that no manager will survive at the club on playing attractive football alone as Marco Silva struggles.

The Portuguese boss hasn’t had the greatest first season at the club.

Despite impressing at times this season, Everton are currently in an extremely poor run of form.

They currently only have one win in eight games and that has seen them fall down the Premier League table.

They could even fall to 13th if results go against them tonight.

This all comes after huge investment and expectation that Marco Silva would get them playing good football again after Sam Allardyce.

The former England boss was sacked after securing an eighth-place finish but his football left fans wanting him sacked.

Now he has brandished somewhat of a careful what you wish for message and a warning to Marco Silva.

“Playing attractive football but you’ll never survive…”

Allardyce has suggested that while playing attractive football is good, you’ll not survive at Everton if that’s all you can produce.

He claimed that both his predecessor’s in Roberto Martinez and Ronald Koeman didn’t survive despite playing better football.

Instead, it’s about getting the result, rather than how you get it.

“We can talk about playing it out from the back, playing attractive football but you’ll never survive,” he explained on TalkSport, as cited by the Liverpool Echo.

“Ronald (Koeman) and Roberto (Martinez), they played more attractive football than me but they didn’t survive.

“It’s all about winning football matches, keeping clean sheets and going from there.”
