Salah & Firmino return: Jurgen Klopp names Evian training camp squad

Liverpool’s training camp squad

Liverpool have really struggled in their most recent pre-season games.

Jurgen Klopp’s side would pick up wins vs Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City in their first two friendlies of the summer.

However, since the Reds have begun to face tougher opposition, they have failed to pick up a win.

So far, Liverpool have lost to Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and Napoli, and drew 2-2 with Sporting.

One thing is pretty clear, and that is that Liverpool are really missing some of their top stars.

The likes of Alisson, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita have all been busy over the summer, with either the AFCON or the Copa America, and, as a result, they have been absent from the above-mentioned games.

However, Liverpool fans will be glad to hear that the majority of those stars have been named in Jurgen Klopp’s Evian training camp squad.

The full list of players is as follows:

Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Brewster, Duncan, Elliott, Fabinho, Firmino, Gomez, Henderson, Hoever, Keita, Lallana, Larouci, Lewis, Lonergan, Lovren, Matip, Mignolet, Milner, Ojrzynski, Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Robertson, Salah, Shaqiri, Van den Berg.

Liverpool vs Man City

During their camp, Liverpool will take on Ligue 1 side Lyon on Wednesday the 31st of July.

After that, Jurgen Klopp’s side face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, August 4th.

While Liverpool will be hopeful that the likes of Salah, Alisson and Firmino will be fit to face City, one man who won’t be featuring is Sadio Mane.

That is because Klopp has previously confirmed that Mane will not return to Liverpool until August 5th, the day after the Community Shield.
