Roberto Firmino & Mohamed Salah

No Mo Salah, no Roberto Firmino: Liverpool surprise XI vs Everton

Everton vs Liverpool

Saturday’s action in the Premier League starts with a biggy, as Everton host Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Everton have already upset the Reds in the derby at Anfield earlier this season.

While Dejan Lovren is still protesting his innocence, the Liverpool defender gave away a penalty in the reverse fixture as Everton scored a 1-1 draw thanks to a Wayne Rooney spot-kick.

However Liverpool did beat Everton at Anfield in the FA Cup this season.

No Mo Salah, no Roberto Firmino

On Saturday, the likes of the Times and the Guardian have gone about predicting the line-ups for the derby at Goodison Park.

Liverpool fans have been worrying about Mohamed Salah for several days. That’s after the Egyptian left the Man City match with a groin injury.

According to the pre-game predictions, Salah will be left out of the Liverpool XI at Everton.

But will Roberto Firmino also miss the Everton game? That’s also predicted in the broadsheets, as the Brazilian is omitted from the probable line-ups.

Instead Jurgen Klopp is being tipped to start Dom Solanke and Danny Ings alongside Sadio Mane.

Nathaniel Clyne’s first start of the season?

Another change in the Liverpool XI could see Nathaniel Clyne make his first Premier League start and appearance of the season at Everton.

Clyne’s return comes at the time when Liverpool have injury problems concerning Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez.

Elsewhere, Andrew Robertson, who has starred a left-back for Klopp recently, could also get the Everton game off as Alberto Moreno may start.

Attacking Everton XI

As for Everton’s likely line-up, Sam Allardyce is tipped with fielding an attacking team.

In-form Cenk Tosun is set to lead the line. He’ll be supported by Theo Walcott, Yannick Bolasie and Wayne Rooney in midfield.
