Can Liverpool win the Champions League this season?
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is targeting another Champions League run this season after their experiences in Europe last year.
The Senegalese forward was part of a side that received rave reviews on their way to the Champions League final.
They beat teams such as Porto, Manchester City and Roma on the way to their final clash with Real Madrid but fell at the final hurdle.
Though, having invested heavily in top players Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alisson Becker, the club will be aiming to go one step further this season.
Now, Sadio Mane has been speaking about Liverpool’s chances of Champions League glory this season.
When asked whether they can go far in the tournament again, he replied ‘why not?’
“It was a very big sign for us. It was a bonus for us to learn and get those kinds of experiences,” he explained to Liverpoolfc.com.
“We have played [big games] already and we know how. Now we have to do the same work on the pitch and the experience we had in the past will help.
“It’s very early to speak about it but it’s why we’re always here working: to do anything possible. We have the quality and everything to go throughout [the tournament], so why not? Why not?”
With the draw on Thursday, Mane explained that he does not really care who they get because they will be ready for anyone.
“Honestly, I don’t mind. We are a good team. It will not be easy for any team but, like we always did, we’ll fight and fight and fight again,” he continued.
