Sadio Mane & Harry Kane: Real Madrid’s 7-player summer transfer shortlist

Sadio Mane

Real Madrid & Zinedine Zidane

There’s been little for the Madrid press to celebrate this season regarding Real.

Los Blancos have had a terrible campaign, but there was a major change on Monday they appointed their third coach of the year: Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane replaces Santiago Solari, who replaced Julen Lopetegui.

Zidane’s comeback has stirred the press. The excitement is back.

AS latch upon the optimism in a new article listing seven players who Real Madrid may target this summer.

AS make it clear that Real Madrid plan to return to the Galáctico policy this off-season.

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane & Tottenham’s Harry Kane

Somewhat surprisingly Sadio Mane appears on the list.

The Liverpool forward is painted out to be a huge Zidane fan.

AS believe that Zidane could tempt Mane to leave Liverpool.

They also suggest that Zizou was thinking about signing Mane before he left Madrid.

Tottenham’s Harry Kane is another Premier League target for Real Madrid.

However AS see be realistic about Madrid’s chances of that deal coming to fruition.

Kane is given a 250 million euro price-tag, which is likely to prevent Real from landing the Spurs striker.

Eden Hazard & Paul Pogba

According to reports on Tuesday, Real Madrid have officially opened talks with Chelsea about signing Eden Hazard.

AS also list Hazard on Madrid’s wanted list, however it’s noted that Chelsea’s possible transfer ban could throw a spanner in the works.

Hazard is out of contract at Chelsea in 2020.

Could Man United’s Paul Pogba jettison out of Old Trafford for Madrid?

AS tell their readers “the French midfielder wants to work under Zidane”, however prising Pogba out of Manchester seems incredibly unlikely.

Pogba is valued at 150 million euros.

Neymar, Mbappe & Militao

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe and Neymar also appear on the Real Madrid shopping list.

The links to Mbappe seem weak, particularly as the striker said just last weekend to Telefoot that he’s stay at PSG.

On Neymar, rumours about the Brazilian’s switch to Real have been around ever since he left Barcelona.

Yet AS pour cold water on that deal happening, saying “Zidane considers him a great player, but the Brazilian is not part of his list of preferences.”

Finally, after a long list of forwards, AS include one defender on Real’s transfer targets: Porto centre-half Militao.

Militao’s move to Madrid is already in the bag. Los Blancos are expected to pay Porto Militao’s €50 million release clause.
