A number of noteworthy updates surrounding Tottenham’s coaching staff have come to the fore online this weekend.
Conte says no
The subject of the bench in north London has of course taken centre stage in the media of late.
This comes with Spurs, just a week prior to a League Cup final showdown with Manchester City back in April, having opted to dismiss Jose Mourinho.
Ryan Mason, in turn, picked up the reins at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, for the final weeks of the campaign.
The ex-midfielder, though, completely inexperienced in a senior managerial role, was always viewed as a stop-gap fix, with Daniel Levy and co. having since gone about bringing in a more high-profile name.
In turn, a whole host of tacticians have been named as targets on the part of the Spurs board.
Initially, upon Mourinho’s dismissal, the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Julian Nagelsmann, Steven Gerrard and even ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino were touted as potential arrivals on the bench in the capital.
Antonio Conte, meanwhile, looked set to delight the Lilywhites faithful by taking his talents to north London, only for an agreement with the Italian to fall through at the last minute:
Antonio Conte is not joining Tottenham at current conditions, confirmed. He’s not convinced about project and staff members. Big difference on salary proposal too. ⚪️🚨 #THFC
Paratici is expected to accept Spurs job.

As a result, the board at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were forced to restart their managerial search this week.
And, finally, it appears that an appointment is imminent.
As per a host of reliable sources, Paulo Fonseca – recently dismissed by AS Roma to make room for none other than Jose Mourinho – is just details away from being named the new Spurs manager.
And, on Saturday, an insight into some of those set to join the Portuguese on the bench in the English capital has been forthcoming.
Ryan Mason will remain, to act as one of a number of assistants to Fonseca. Club legend Ledley King, meanwhile, will also be kept on, in a similar role:
Understand that Ryan Mason and Ledley King will remain on Tottenham’s coaching staff as assistants to Paulo Fonseca.

Elsewhere on the Tottenham front on Saturday, the appointment of Fabio Paratici as the club’s new Managing Director of Football has been made official.
The Italian, fresh off a successful stint with Serie A heavyweights Juventus, ‘will be responsible for managing and developing the Club’s sporting operations at the Club, facilities and footballing infrastructure’, as per Spurs’ announcement:
