Gareth Bale: Wales' all-time top goal scorer

Ryan Giggs gives update on Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid future

Staying put?

Wales boss Ryan Giggs has given an update on Welsh star and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale’s future amid reports he could return to England.

The former Spurs forward has been struggling under Zinedine Zidane and is reportedly growing frustrated with the Frenchman.

That has lead to many reports questioning as to whether the Welshman will remain at the Bernabeu next season.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been linked with bringing the player back to the Premier League.

Reports claim that it would cost any of those sides around £90million to get a deal done but his future certainly seems to be in doubt.

Though, it might not be the end of his time at Real Madrid just yet after Ryan Giggs’ recent comments.

He has suggested that the player is ‘happy where he is’ and quashed rumours of a potential move.

‘He’s at a fantastic club, he’s won three Champions League [titles], so he’s happy where he is,’ he wrote in an article for Sky Sports.

‘As a player, you’re always battling for your place, no more so than at a big club where it isn’t just about 11 players.

‘But without a shadow of a doubt, when Gareth is flying he can get into any team in the world.

‘He’s among the top players in the world. There’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and then there’s the next tier of players and he’s up there with the best of the rest.’
