Ryan Giggs confirms Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is injured

Ramsey to miss Wales game

Aaron Ramsey is currently on international duty with Wales.

Wales’ first game of the international break sees them take on Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.

They will then face Slovakia on Sunday in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Wales have been drawn in Group E along with Azerbaijan, Croatia, Hungry and Slovakia.

Ahead of Wales’ friendly with Trinidad and Tobago, Ryan Giggs has provided an update on his squad.

During said interview, Giggs confirmed that Arsenal’s Ramsey has a ‘slight knock to his thigh’ and they are monitoring the situation.

Giggs is hopeful that the midfielder will be available for the game with Slovakia on Sunday.

Arsenal vs Newcastle

While Giggs is hopeful of having Ramsey fit for their qualifier, Arsenal fans will not want him rushed back to quickly.

Ramsey has made 25 appearances for Arsenal in the league this campaign, scoring three and assisting six.

Arsenal’s first game back after the international break will see them host Newcastle.

The Gunners have eight league games left to play and currently sit in the final Champions League spot.

They are one point below 3rd place Tottenham and could overtake them with a win vs Newcastle as Spurs will be facing Liverpool that weekend.

However, Unai Emery’s side are just two points above 5th place Manchester United and three points above 6th place Chelsea.

Meaning, they could easily find themselves down in 6th place should they fail to beat Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle.

Newcastle are currently 13th in the Premier League with 35 points from 31 games.
