Ryan Bertrand may leave Southampton
The Daily Mail have broken the news on Thursday that Ryan Bertrand may leave Southampton this summer.
29-year-old Bertrand is under contract at St Mary’s until 2021.
Last season, the reliable left-back played 24 times for Southampton in the Premier League, scoring once.
Bertrand, who won the Champions League with Chelsea back in 2012, has now been linked with a possible switch to two massive European clubs.
Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan
The Mail say that Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are both interested in signing Bertrand. Readers are told:
Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are ready to move for Southampton full-back Ryan Bertrand as the south coast club appear ready to cash in on the 29-year-old this summer.
To the possible chagrin of Southampton fans, the Mail also suggest that Bertrand could leave the south coast for a relatively small sum:
Southampton are expected to demand around £15m but Atletico and Inter are both hopeful a deal can be struck for Bertrand for less than £10m.

Other points of note on the Mail’s Ryan Bertrand update
(1) Bayern Munich are also name-dropped as a possible suitor for the Southampton full-back, although the Bavarians’ interest in Bertrand feels slightly weak.
(2) Should Bertrand leave Southampton, the plan is for Matt Targett to assume the left-back role for the Saints.
