Bastian Schweinsteiger & Man United
Germany’s SportBild posted an eye-catching piece of information on Saturday night, announcing that Bastian Schweinsteiger may play for Man United v West Ham.
Schweinsteiger has been frozen out of the Man United squad since the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Indeed, the German World Cup winner was forced to train with the Man United U23s in recent times.
However, as December approaches, SportBild wonder whether Mourinho has had a change of heart, as Schweinsteiger is tipped to be in the United matchday squad for the game against the Hammers on Sunday.
So does this mean Schweinsteiger is a lock to play?
No, it doesn’t.
Nevertheless, this feels like the closest Schweinsteiger has been to the United first team for some time.
It’s equally possible that instead of thinking that Mourinho has now found a place for Schweinsteiger in his setup, that the Special One simply wants to put the midfielder in the shop window before the January transfer market.
The Chicago Fire have been tipped to land the German this January.
