Tottenham star to quit club
This will surprise few Spurs fans on Thursday morning.
Overnight on Wednesday, rumours picked up speed in Argentina that River Plate are scoping out a move for a Spurs star.
In the past few days, a rumour circulated that Tottenham’s Argentine midfielder Erik Lamela is missing extra time away from White Hart Lane due to the passing of his family pet – his dog Simba.
Lamela hasn’t played for Spurs since October due to a hip injury and fans are wondering when he’s set to return.
The dog story has since been sideswiped by the player and club, yet Lamela’s absence from the first team persists.
Is he homesick?
According to the latest claims, due to an unspecified family situation, Erik Lamela may leave Tottenham and head to River Plate in the off-season.
Indeed, Argentina’s Radio La Red report that River have opened talks with Spurs over the deal.
Lamela is thought to be open to the transfer. The 24-year-old played for River Plate before joining Roma in 2011.
Por un tema familiar Lamela necesita venir al pais y esta la chance de jugar el semestre con la Banda. En River quieren q sea el año entero.
