Where’s Juan Mata?
The Spanish midfielder, who has been one of the standout players at Old Trafford this season, was nowhere to be seen when the Red Devils travelled to the English capital on Saturday before the EFL Cup final v Southampton on Sunday.
Manchester United meanwhile have been caught up in cup competitions that look to have slowly depleted some of Jose Mourinho’s options.
On Thursday Manchester United saw midfielders Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Michael Carrick pick up knocks in St Etienne, and both players could miss the final versus the Saints.
Mata rumour spreads
Unconfirmed reports coming out of Spain on Saturday are claiming that Mata has returned to his home on Saturday after his grandfather passed away.
The rumours further state that Mata is expected to be back in London for the final, where he’s fit and ready to go.
