Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante has sustained a knee injury before Arsenal

Arsenal vs Chelsea in the Europa League final

On Wednesday night in Baku, Azerbaijan, Arsenal will take on Chelsea in the Europa League final.

If Arsenal win the final, the Gunners will earn a spot in next season’s Champions League.

If Arsenal lose, they’ll be playing Europa League football once again in 2019-20.

As for Chelsea, they’ve already earned their 2019-20 Champions League place after finishing third in the league.

But Maurizio Sarri has never won a major trophy in his career, and Chelsea will surely be keen on winning the Europa League in what may well be Eden Hazard’s swansong for the Pensioners.

Is N’Golo Kante injured?

But will Chelsea triumph over the Gunners?

Over the weekend, unconfirmed reports spread on social media claiming that N’Golo Kante is injured days before the Europa League final.

On Saturday, a Chelsea fan posted a couple of cryptic updates which revealed “an injury in training to one of our main players”.

On Sunday, Twitter user Carefree Youth has gone a step further, claiming that Kante has sustained a knee injury at training.

N’Golo Kante knee injury update

Official confirmation of Kante’s knee injury has since come from Goal.com’s Nizaar Kinsella:

Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of N’Golo Kante ahead of the Europa League final after the midfielder suffered a knock in training on Saturday.

He had been taking part in preparations ahead of the Europa League decider against Arsenal when he suffered a knock to his knee and his involvement in the game remains doubtful as a result.
