Ruben Loftus-Cheek gives update on Chelsea future ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt

Chelsea vs Eintracht Frankfurt

Chelsea are set to face German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday in the second-leg of their Europa League clash.

The Blues drew the reverse fixture 1-1, with Pedro having earned Chelsea a vital away goal.

With Chelsea already qualified for next season’s Champions League via the league, there is less pressure on them to win the Europa League now.

However, Maurizio Sarri will no doubt be keen to earn some silverware in his first season in London.

If Chelsea do make it to the final they will face either Arsenal or Valencia.

The Gunners have a 3-1 lead heading into their own semi-final second-leg.

Loftus-Cheek’s Chelsea future

Prior to facing Frankfurt, Ruben Loftus-Cheek joined Maurizio Sarri for his pre-match press conference.

Loftus-Cheek was asked about a number of things, including signing a new deal with Chelsea:

“I am not sure *laughs* I would let an agent deal with it, I am focused on how I am playing right now.”

RLC was also questioned about his future at Chelsea and it appears to be good news for Blues fans:

“There’s no reason for me to leave and if I get a pay-rise, that’s great.”

Loftus-Cheek has scored nine and assisted five in 38 appearances across all competitions this campaign.
