Keane press conference
Roy Keane has offered his thoughts on the current state of the transfer market and how much he thinks his former Manchester United teammates would be worth if they were playing today.
Speaking to the media ahead of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, the Republic of Ireland assistant boss gave his thoughts on this mad transfer window. He called it mind-boggling. Average players are going for £35m.
It led to a journalist asking him to stick a price-tag on a few legends. Keane, as he always does, responded with his tongue in his cheek. He asked specifically which players they wanted valuations for.
Putting a price on class
How much would it cost to sign Ruud van Nistelrooy now? “One billion.”
What about David Beckham? “One billion.”
Ryan Giggs? “He’d be worth two billion.”
