Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has discussed Wilfried Zaha’s future at the club amid suggestions he could leave for Chelsea this summer.
The Ivorian forward has been the subject of many clubs this summer including Everton, Tottenham and Chelsea.
The latest news on his future seems to suggest that it is the former who are the most likely to sign him and that the player is trying to force through a move.
While Zaha has always made it known that Palace is his home, reports are seemingly suggesting that he could try himself at the top level yet again.
Though, manager Roy Hodgson doesn’t think he has any intentions of leaving.
No indication he wants to leave
That is because speaking on Friday, the Palace boss explained that the player had given him no indication of wanting to leave the club.
‘I spoke to Wilf yesterday and he certainly gave me no indication that he wanted to quit the club, in fact we were talking about how good the new signings were and how they would help us,’ Hodgson explained on TalkSport, as cited by the Daily Mirror.
‘The thing with Wilf is very simple; he’s very much an integral part of our plans, he’s very much an integral part of Crystal Palace Football Club.
‘Everyone likes him, everyone admires him, he knows that and I think he likes and respects the club as well.
‘My hope and plan absolutely is that he will stay, so I’ll let the speculation continue and I’ll continue being happy to work with him.’
