Unclear future for Rose
Danny Rose has explained his future with Tottenham Hotspur isn’t clear cut.
With some transfer windows still open until the end of the month, Rose knows he could leave.
However, the defender added that he expects to remain at the club.
He said to Standard Sport: “I’m good. I’m not listening to the speculation about my future. If I’m here past Friday, which I’m expecting to be, it will be great. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve at the end of the season.
“Me and the manager have had a conversation [about my future] over the phone, as well as two one-hour meetings over the last couple of weeks. We’re both aware of the situation.”
Rose’s game time at Spurs
Having been on the sidelines, Rose noted he didn’t expect to play in the win over Man United.
That was after seeing Spurs do so well in their opening couple of games.
Yet Rose added to Standard Sport that he was thrilled to get his chance.
“On Sunday, I was nervous to see if I was going to be in the squad [for United] and I really didn’t see myself playing.
“I was so shocked in the meeting before we arrived [at Old Trafford]. I thought there was going to be a change but never did I think that it was going to be me coming in. I’m over the moon that I was able to be part of it.
“It was nothing to do with my fitness. I just felt that we won last week, had a very good performance.”
Tottenham Hotspur title challenge
Spurs are doing well this season.
So much so, the club have won their opening three games.
The players are talking cautiously about their chances this season, and are hopeful of pushing Liverpool and Man City.
