Romelu Lukaku’s relationship with Paul Pogba has ‘deteriorated’ & Man United ‘halt’ Christian Eriksen chase – BBC

Romelu Lukaku’s relationship with Paul Pogba has ‘drastically deteriorated’

In The Athletic on Wednesday, reporter Adam Crafton has delved into the ongoing Romelu Lukaku saga.

With two days left in the Premier League transfer window, the Belgian’s future is uncertain.

Lukaku skipped Man United training on Tuesday without permission.

Instead, for a second-day running, Lukaku trained at Anderlecht.

As reported by the BBC’s Simon Stone, Man United are likely to fine Lukaku for missing work yesterday.

Yet,  as revealed by Adam Crafton, Lukaku’s problems extend beyond his desire to leave Old Trafford.

Lukaku now has some personal issues in Manchester, and he’s reportedly fallen out with Paul Pogba:

Lukaku has since ruptured relations with Raiola while there is also truth in reports of a drastic deterioration in his relationship with Pogba.

The pair exchanged words last season and Lukaku is also baffled by the way Pogba’s pre-season hints at a transfer have been indulged by Solskjaer.

By contrast, Lukaku believes his own professionalism has only cost him precious time in pre-season training with a new club.

Tottenham: Man United ‘halt’ Christian Eriksen chase

Simon Stone has also reported that the chances of Man United signing Christian Eriksen from Tottenham have fallen sharply.

Talks over a potential deal have been ‘halted’ because United think Eriksen prefers a switch to La Liga.

The BBC reporter has also speculated that Man United’s hopes of signing any new players before Thursday are “not high”:
