Romelu Lukaku’s agent gives update on Man United star’s future

Lukaku’s time with Man United

Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United in 2017 from Everton for a staggering fee of around £75m.

Since then, the Belgian has gone on to make 90 appearances across all competitions.

In those 90 appearances, Lukaku has scored 42 and assisted 13.

Lukaku was, however, not having the best season under Jose Mourinho and when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer came in, he found himself playing second fiddle to Marcus Rashford.

As a result, the 25-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this year, largely to Serie A outfit, Juventus.

Lukaku future update

With three years remaining on his current United deal, Federico Pastorello has provided an update on his clients United future:

“At the moment he is very focused on finishing the season.

“The competition for third and fourth place in England is very tight so let’s see what will happen in the future at the end the season.

“It’s his second season here and he will still have three years on his contract until the end. Let’s see. He’s someone who loves to know a different culture, a different football.

“He sees a way to have a career playing in different countries because he would like to win some trophies and prove himself and say to his children ‘I won there and I won there and I won there’ and ‘I was a very good player in all the top championships’ so let’s see, the future is really very open.As quoted by Sky Sports.

The race for the top four

As mentioned by Lukaku’s agent, the race for a Champions League place is still very much on.

United’s hopes did take a bit of a hit in their last tie as they lost 2-1 vs Wolves.

The Red Devils are now 6th in the league, although, the gap between 6th and 3rd is very small.

Man United are just three points off 3rd place Tottenham and then two points off 4th and 5th place, with a game in hand on 5th place Chelsea.
