Could Lukaku be on his way out of Old Trafford?
Romelu Lukaku could soon be on his way out of Manchester United, with reports suggesting the Belgian is ‘considering’ an exit this summer.
Lukaku’s Manchester United career hasn’t started as he may have expected after joining from Everton.
Lukaku was one of the best strikers in the Premier League during his time at the Toffees and was expected to kick on with better service.
However, he hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations.
Despite a pretty decent first season, Lukaku has very much gone off the boil at Old Trafford.
He’s even lost his spot up front to youngster Marcus Rashford under Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
To add to Lukaku’s woes, he also looks set to be ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.
Now, he’s reportedly considering his future at Old Trafford.
On his way to Serie A?
That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who claim that he has doubts over his role under Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
Their report claims that ‘a source close to Lukaku has told the MEN the 25-year-old believes he is uncertain of his position under the current regime.’
They continue by explaining that Lukaku had no intention to leave under Jose Mourinho, but that has now changed.
As a result, he is open to a potential Serie A move.
Some Italian clubs have been linked with a move for Lukaku recently.
Though the MEN name drops Inter Milan as a club that is appealing for Lukaku.
Safe to say, if Lukaku is to leave Old Trafford this summer, Manchester United would almost certainly not recoup the huge amount of money they paid for him back in 2015.
