Romelu Lukaku casts doubt over Man United future after Chelsea

Man United 1-Chelsea 1

Manchester United hosted Chelsea on Sunday in a must-win tie.

United started the weekend in 6th place and needed to beat 4th place Chelsea to stand any real chance of qualifying for next year’s Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side did start the game well with Juan Mata giving them the lead in the 12th minute.

However, another David de Gea error would see United come away with just the one point.

Lukaku on his Manchester United future

Man United are now three points behind 4th place Chelsea with two league games left.

After all but dooming themselves to Europa league football, Romelu Lukaku was asked about his Man United future:

“I don’t know, I am not here to entertain rumours. I am still under contract.”As quoted by the Guardian.

Lukaku was United’s main striker under Jose Mourinho but that role now seems to belong to Marcus Rashford under OGS.

The Belgian has scored just 15 in 45 games across all competitions this season for United and has been linked with a move to Serie A giants, Juventus.

Lukaku’s fitness was also slammed by former United defender Gary Neville on Sunday:

“He was a brilliant performer today, then you say to yourself he always looks tired after one or two big runs.

“He’s a big decision. I’ve got very little sympathy for anyone who’s unfit as a professional footballer.”As quoted by the Daily Mail.
