The Champions League semi-final draw
We are down to four teams in the Champions League and all of them will think they have a real chance of lifting “Big Ears”.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have the experience and know how. Particularly Los Blancos who have won the trophy for the past two seasons.
Liverpool will strike fear into the other three teams after dispatching Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate.
Whilst Roma will believe they can beat anybody after an epic comeback over Barcelona.
The semi-final draw will be made at 12:00 today (Friday).
Roma think they are playing Liverpool
On Thursday, the official Roma website posted ticket information for a semi-final tie against Liverpool.
Do Roma know something the rest of the world doesn’t quite know yet?
Or was it a genuine error on the Roma website?
Eagled eyed fans noticed that the Giallorossi were selling tickets to play Liverpool on May 2, 2018.
The first leg of the semi-final will take place on April 24 and 25. Whilst the second legs are due to played on May 1 and 2.
Roma: The team everyone wants to draw
Liverpool would probably prefer to play their second leg at home, such is the fearsome atmosphere at Anfield for European nights.
But, there seems little doubt that Roma are the side the other three teams will want to draw in today’s semi-final draw.
This is despite Roma coming top of a group that featured Chelsea and Atletico Madrid and that epic comeback versus Barcelona.
Roma’s website error
A screenshot of Roma’s “semi-final second leg against Liverpool” can be seen below.
It was quickly removed from the Roma website once fans spotted the error.
Were Liverpool to play Roma it would be a repeat of the European Cup final of 1984. Which Liverpool won in the Stadio Olimpico on penalties.
