Francesco Totti has confirmed that he will become a director for his boyhood club AS Roma.

In a statement released by the club Totti talks about his new challenge and his retirement.

The 40-year-old spent his entire club career at Roma, scoring 307 goals in 786 appearances.

In his 25 seasons at the club, Totti undoubtedly grew to become the club’s all-time greatest footballer and captain.

“Keep calling me Francesco”

“Yes, the first part is over, that of a player, and now begins another important assignment as a director, where hopefully I can have a similar impact as I did on the pitch,” Totti said.

As a director, the club legend will help with all aspects of the club, from youth development to ownership issues.

Totti will be involved with new director of football Monchi, who has already brought in the likes of Hector Moreno, Rick Karsdorp, Lorenzo Pellegrini and Maxime Gonalons.
