As per a report from Sky Sport Italia this evening, Serie A giants AS Roma have agreed a deal to sell star duo Kostas Manolas and Leandro Paredes to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg for a combined 65 million Euro.
Manolas, a talented, no-nonsense central defender, had been on the wishlist of several European giants, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona.
However, news broke earlier this week that a deal had been agreed to send the Greek international to Russia after a 30 million Euro fee was agreed with Zenit.
This fee seems to have risen to 40 million Euro, though.
Paredes, on the other hand, is a talented young midfielder who had just recently started to carve out a regular spot for himself in Roma’s starting XI.
A once-capped Argentinian international, it is reported that Paredes was extremely hesitant to agree to a Russian transfer at first.
However, following several days of discussions, his 25 million Euro move is now almost complete.
Both transfers are expected to be announced early next week.
The 65 million Euro brought in by Roma for Manolas and Paredes will now be added to the 42 million Euro plus bonuses gained from the sale of Mohamed Salah to Liverpool on Thursday.
