Jose Mourinho

Robbie Savage claims it’s time for Jose Mourinho to prove his critics wrong

Time to prove your quality

Former Premier League star Robbie Savage has claimed that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho must now prove that he’s still a top-class manager.

The Portuguese boss has come in for much criticism over the past couple of seasons.

His supposedly defensive tactics have started to grind on Man United fans and his negative outlook during the clubs pre-season tour of the US didn’t help.

Despite his struggles to appease his critics in recent years, there is no doubt that Mourinho has been one of the best managers in football for a while now.

Once and for all

Now, former Premier League star Robbie Savage has claimed that it is now time for Mourinho prove he’s still that world-class manager.

‘It’s time to prove that to his critics,’ he explained in his Daily Mirror column.

‘He can’t just bring in instant fixes, so he has to manage the players he’s got, and take them to a different level.

‘Again, the likes of Guardiola, Pochettino and Klopp have done that, now it’s his turn.

‘He has been a top-class manager, and now it is time to remind people of that. For once, there can be no criticism of buying your way to the title.

‘He has a good team, with depth in his squad and outstanding players like Pogba. He needs to work with it.

‘He said after the Leicester game it is time to get on with it, and that’s right.

‘Time to prove to people once and for all Jose that you’ve still got it.’
