Riyad Mahrez looking to help improve Manchester City following £60m move

The impossible task?

Riyad Mahrez has explained how he hopes to improve a Manchester City side who broke so many records in the Premier League last season.

The Algerian finally made his move to the Etihad giants following several moves from the club in January.

The player even submitted a transfer request but he could not force through a move as Leicester stood firm.

Regardless, he finally made his move this summer when his £60million move was confirmed.

Excited

Now, the player has been speaking about his move and he has lauded praise on last seasons City side.

Though, he’s looking to go one further with them next season.

“What they did, it was amazing,” he explained, as cited by the Daily Mirror.

“They broke all the records in the Premier League, which is unbelievable.

“I never thought about these things. I’m very confident in myself and I hope to help this team to improve.

“Every club has great players and competition is part of football,” said the Algerian playmaker. “Everyone can improve and the squad can improve, it’s perfect.

“I don’t like to talk about myself, I’ll let others do that. The most important thing is that I will do my best for the team to help the team achieve things.

“The price doesn’t affect me. I’m just happy to be here. The prices have been big in every country, so it doesn’t bother me.

“The Champions League is for big clubs, they’re a big club. They have everything to try to win the Champions League. Now we have to work and see what can happen.”
