Riyad Mahrez hits back at allegations that “Man City don’t watch other teams”

Mahrez claims surface

Sensational claims allegedly made by Riyad Mahrez hit the headlines yesterday, with the Algerian on international duty.

First reported by The Sun, speaking to French outlet Canal+, Mahrez is quoted as saying:

”The lads at City don’t watch other teams’ matches on TV. They don’t give a s*** about them.

“Plenty of times in the dressing-room I’ve heard certain others asking: ‘What happened in the game last night?’

“I don’t know what to say. It could be the Champions League semi-final.

Mahrez hits back

Taking to Twitter, though, the Manchester City winger has hit back at such claims. Quoting an outlet reporting the news, he tweeted:

“Never said this or anything close to this”

This is not the first time that Mahrez has called out the media on social media, having previously taken to twitter to challenge claims made by The Athletic’s Sam Lee in November of 2020, alleging that Kevin De Bruyne had had a go at him on the pitch.
