Richarlison signs new deal/ Silva gives update on Everton trio ahead of Liverpool

Richarlison pens new deal

Despite their woeful start to the season, Everton have been handed some good news this week.

The Toffees announced on Tuesday evening that Richarlison has put pen to paper on a new deal.

Everton confirmed that the Brazilian’s new deal keeps him at Goodison Park until at least 2024.

The 22-year-old made the switch to Everton in July of 2018 from fellow Premier League outfit Watford.

The versatile forward has since gone on to feature 55 times for Everton, scoring 20 and assisting four in said appearances.

After extending his contract with the Merseyside outfit, Richarlison had this to say:

“I intend to be here a long time. This was the club which gave me the opportunity to show my football.

“It was here I managed to get a place in the Brazil national team and it was here I have scored lots of goals in the Premier League.

“The Club trusts me and I trust them. The supporters have a lot of affection for me and I try to give back all this affection as much as possible on the pitch.

“I go out and put my life on the line for them. I try to sweat blood and tears for this club. I intend to continue honouring the shirt and making the fans happy. “And I hope they continue singing my name.” As quoted by Everton’s official website.

Silva on Delph, Walcott & Coleman

News of Richarlison’s fresh deal comes just over 24 hours before Everton’s next PL clash.

Marco Silva must take his side to Anfield on Wednesday evening, to face bitter rivals Liverpool.

Failing to get anything out of said clash could be detrimental to Silva’s future with Everton, as they have had a torrid start to the campaign, and currently sit just two points above the relegation zone.

During his pre-Liverpool press conference, Silva would provide updates on three players.

Silva confirmed that Theo Walcott will be fit to face the European champions.

However, the former Watford and Hull City boss also stated that Seamus Coleman will not be fit, while Fabian Delph isn’t training with his teammates:

“Theo Walcott will be fit for tomorrow. Seamus Coleman will not be fit and Fabian Delph is not training with his teammates. We will see how they are.”
