Both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben were set for Bayern Munich exits this summer but now they are set to remain at the Allianz.
The two players were coming to the end of the contracts in June and there was much talk over whether they would be offered and sign renewals.
With several clubs obviously interested in players of such quality, there was almost a feeling that this could go down to the wire.
Now, a report from Kicker has suggested that Franck Ribery has agreed a new one-year deal with Bayern and Robben is set to follow suit.
While Ribery has seemingly agreed all details for his new deal, Robben is yet to put pen to paper but Kicker claim it’s only ‘final details’ to go.
In the case of Ribery, the report claims that the Frenchman has acknowledged that he will likely see younger players such as Kingsley Coman overthrow him in the side.
Though, the report also states that the player is willing to fight for his place and ‘will contribute to the overall success.’
Serge Gnabry is also set to return from loan next season, having spent time with Hoffenheim this season.
The former Arsenal forward will be looking to challenge both Ribery and Robben for a spot next season.
That could leave them both with a fight on their hands but should Robben’s deal get completed, there will certainly be some impressive options in attack for Bayern.
