Jorginho on joining Chelsea: “Sarri’s arrival played a big part”
Jorginho claims that Maurizio Sarri and the size of Chelsea as a club swayed his decision over a move there this summer.
Manchester City were in the race to sign the 26-year-old but eventually lost out to the Blues.
“There are a lot of things behind a negotiation process.
“I believe Sarri’s arrival played a big part on it.
“And there’s also the greatness of Chelsea, such a big club.
“So these factors helped me making my mind.”
Jorginho on Maurizio Sarri: “He’s always bantering”
Since Sarri took over as manager of Napoli back in 2005, the pair have worked together ever since.
It was under Sarri that Jorginho’s career took off as the Italian transformed the Naples club.
The Italian midfielder has spoken of the “good relationship” that he shares with the now Chelsea boss.
“Yes, it’s a pretty good relationship.
“He’s always bantering, joking with me.
“He didn’t call me, because he’s not the type to be phoning players.
“But of course, through agents, I knew what his wish was and what kind of work would be put in here.”

When asked about Sarri’s style of football, Jorginho stated:
“Very offensive, very offensive
“He’s very tactical and he works a lot on the tactical aspects of the game.
“You can see the end product when you look at Napoli and how Chelsea are playing now.
