Revealed: What Cristiano Ronaldo has been left ‘baffled’ by since return to Manchester United

Ronaldo’s return

Cristiano Ronaldo would, of course, re-sign for Manchester United this past summer.

There was, in part due to Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane also joining the club, a lot of expectation on Ronaldo to help guide United back towards their glory days.

However, that has, so far, not quite happened for the Red Devils. But whilst United as a squad have had a pretty mixed 2021/22 to date, Ronaldo himself has continued to thrive.

In 15 Premier League outings, the Portuguese has scored eight and assisted three this campaign.

It is in the Champions League, however, where CR7 has truly shone. Ronaldo has scored six in five outings – earning crucial points against the likes of Villarreal and Atalanta.

Cristiano Ronaldo left baffled

However, despite what, on paper, looked a solid summer window, Manchester United currently sit 7th in the Premier League table.

And such a position, as was made quite clear in his recent interview with Sky, does not exactly please Ronaldo.

The interview saw the veteran attacker state that Manchester United need to be one of the top three teams in England, insisting that everyone at the club can do better:

“Manchester United should win the league or be second or third. I don’t see other positions for Manchester United to be honest, I don’t see. In my eyes, I don’t accept that our mentality be less than to be in the top three. “We are capable to change things now. I don’t know the specific way I’m a player, not the coach, the president, I know the way but I’m not going to mention it here because I think it’s not ethic [sic] from my part to say that.

“What I can say and something I can say we are in control, we can do it better, all of us. Manchester belongs in important things, we have to change that.”

As reported by the Daily Mail, Ronaldo has been left baffled by the fact that more of his teammates do not stay behind after training to work on their fitness. It is also hinted that the young players at United are not listening to Ronaldo’s ‘words of wisdom’.
