Revealed: The reason behind Barcelona’s shock move for Alberto Moreno

FC Barcelona are lining up a shock move for Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno, according to Sport.

Moreno’s time at Anfield has been far from successful and the club’s supporters will be pleased to see the back of him.

Therefore, it begs the question as to why the Spanish full-back is close to joining the Catalan Giants.

Sport via Sports Witness claim that Barcelona have been looking for full-backs with La Liga experience and available for a low-cost.

Moreno fills that criteria having spent two years in Spain’s top division and he is soon to be available on a free transfer.

The Spanish league leaders are currently exploring the possibility of handing the defender a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old’s deal with the Reds expires in the summer and Barcelona are leading the race for his signature.

Sevilla, Lazio and Inter Milan have also expressed an interest in signing the player.

Barcelona also lining up Matthijs de Ligt and Luka Jovic moves

Sport also report that Barcelona are ready to move for Matthijs de Ligt and Luka Jovic this summer.

Barca are banking on the Dutch defender’s interest in playing at the Nou Camp to win the race for his signature.

Meanwhile, Jovic is being targeted to finally alleviate some of the pressure off Luis Suarez.
