Revealed: Why Real Madrid are refusing to give Barcelona guard of honour
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has revealed that Real Madrid will not be giving Barcelona a guard of honour should they win La Liga this season.
Barcelona lead La Liga by nine points and look set to clinch the title before they meet Madrid at the Nou Camp on 6 May.
Zidane insists that Los Blancos will not honour Barcelona’s achievements after the Catalan club failed to do the same following Madrid’s Club World Cup triumph at the start of the season.
“This is my decision”

Barcelona have dominated La Liga this season and are now just a few games away from wrapping up the title.
They are expected to do so before the second El Classico of the season which takes place next month at Nou Camp.
However, Madrid are set to refuse the chance to honour Barcelona’s achievements should their bitter rivals have won the league before they meet next month.
Zidane said:
“We will not give a guard of honour, this is my decision.
“Barcelona didn’t follow the tradition when we won the Club World Cup. This is my decision.”
Barcelona fans fume
First El Pasillo done by Bilbao to pay tribute to LaLiga winner Atlético de Madrid (1970).
It’s not a rule, no team is forced to do it. But it’s a tradition that’s been respected forever since by all spanish clubs. Only broken now by Zidane & Real Madrid. pic.twitter.com/I85Ki9kRY8

Glad I’m a Barca fan. A club who has values off the pitch as well. We clapped for Madrid players everytime we lost a final against them including this summer . Shows how salty they are that we’re winning the league again this season . Small salty club mentality.

Hammad boys asking how did Barça give Sevilla a Pasillo for winning UEFA Cup in 2006. Because Barça is a class Club, unlike your -20 points deficient Club’s cowards. pic.twitter.com/Y5hoz1pxzm
