Manchester United’s players have been left shocked over Jose Mourinho’s treatment of £52m signing Fred, according to UOL Esporte.
The Brazilian has remained either an unused substitute or failed to even make the matchday squad on 11 occasions this season, whilst making just ten appearances.
Fred failed to even make the bench during United’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday highlighting Mourinho’s reluctance to play him.
Fred falls out of favour with Mourinho
Fred was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for a huge fee with much anticipation surrounding his arrival in England.
During negotiations, the player was even told by Mourinho that his dream midfield involved: Fred, Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.
However, the trio have featured together on just four occasions, with the 25-year-old being handed a limited role.
Despite starting the season as a regular feature in Mourinho’s line-up, he has recently remained on the bench.
His limited involvement has also seen his place in the Brazilian national team also come under threat.
Fred was dropped from Tite’s squad for friendlies against both Cameroon and Uruguay during the November international break.
Mourinho comments on Fred’s adaptation to the Premier League
