An insight into the upcoming spell on the sidelines facing Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati has been provided late on Friday evening.
Spanish international Ansu of course suffered just his latest injury setback on Thursday.
Introduced off the bench in a Copa del Rey showdown with Athletic Club, the 19-year-old lasted just half an hour, before eventually limping out of proceedings with a muscular issue.
Concern, in turn, quickly spread across the Blaugrana fanbase, with Ansu having been forced to sit out the majority of the campaign thus far owing to injury.
And now, late on Friday, an update on the situation has been provided.
As per an official statement released across the club’s social media platforms, Barcelona’s prodigious no.10 has suffered a proximal tendon injury in his left hamstring, with further tests over the coming days set to determine the course of treatment:

And swiftly following Barca’s update on the situation have been a swathe of further reports online.
As per Diario AS journalist Javi Miguel, Jose Alvarez of El Chiringuito and more, if Ansu is ultimately forced back under the knife to solve his latest hamstring problem, the Spaniard could be facing up to a spell of at least three months on the sidelines.

Barca sent packing
Ansu’s latest injury, whilst terrible news in and of itself, actually marked just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the woes suffered by Barcelona on Thursday night.
In addition, boss Xavi Hernandez went on to confirm post-match that all of Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Pedri departed San Mames suffering with fresh ‘discomfort’.
Not only that, but the Blaugrana were ousted from the Copa, too, owing to a 3-2 extra-time defeat at the hands of Athletic.
Add to this the fresh drama surrounding Ousmane Dembele, who now appears set to depart Catalunya for a minimal fee this month, and the extent of the crisis currently unfolding at the Camp Nou is laid bare for all to see.
