Renewal incoming? Mo Salah sends Liverpool new contract message

Mohamed Salah.

.. best player in the world?

There is a very strong case for Mohamed Salah being the current best player in the world.

The Egyptian currently leads the Premier League in both the scoring and assist charts, and while he is now away for the African Cup of Nations. he remains 6 goals clear of the second-highest scorer, teammate Diogo Jota.

But, with his contract up in 2023, there is speculation about his future.

New contract in the works?

Now, however, the wide-man has told Liverpool and Liverpool fans exactly what the state of the situation is at present.

Speaking to GQ magazine, Salah revealed that the hold-up was at Liverpool’s end, not his, as he spoke of his love for the club.

The star man claimed:

“I want to stay, but it’s not in my hands. It’s in their hands,”

They know what I want. I’m not asking for crazy stuff.

“The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something because they appreciate what you did for the club.

“I’ve been here for my fifth year now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It’s in their hands.”

Getting Salah to remain at Liverpool seems a no-brainer, and last month, Jurgen Klopp spoke on his talisman, revealing a contract was in the works:

You know exactly what Mo is about. We’re talking and extending a contract with a player like Mo is not something where you meet for a cup of tea in the afternoon and find an agreement. That’s completely normal.

“There’s really nothing else to say about Mo. He speaks about it and I can only say a few things because all the rest is not for the public, obviously.”

Will they be able to come to an agreement?
