Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has told Sky Sports that Renato Sanches asked to be left out of their Bundesliga squad facing Werder Bremen in order to ‘sort out his future’.

Struggling at Bayern
The Portugal international moved to Bayern last summer in a high-profile move. Despite only having one season of professional football under his belt, Sanches was the subject of interest for a lot of big clubs.
His mature performances at Euro 2016 only added to the view that Sanches was set for stardom. However, his first season in Germany passed by without a goal or assist as the young midfielder struggled to settle.
Now it looks as though he’ll be leaving the Allianz Arena to recover his form. Still an exciting prospect, it doesn’t look likely that Bayern will sell him. A temporary switch should be just what the doctor ordered.
AC Milan are the favourites for his signature but several Premier League sides are also interested.
